State Leaders Visit East Palestine Two Years after Train Derailment

Several state and national leaders are expected to survey cleanup efforts

On Monday, Vice President JD Vance flew to East Palestine on the two-year anniversary of the major train derailment.

Several state and national leaders surveyed cleanup efforts and met with residents in the community on Monday. The visit marks two years since a major train derailment in the Village of East Palestine, where 50 cars transporting hazardous materials derailed. 

Vance was joined by Governor Mike DeWine, Senators Bernie Moreno and Jon Husted, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and the head of the Environmental Protection Agency Lee Zeldin at the site.
