Trump Administration Bars Harvard from Enrolling Foreign Students
The action indicates says thousands must transfer
The Trump administration revoked Harvard University’s ability to enroll international students in its escalating battle with the Ivy League school, saying thousands of current students must transfer to other schools or leave the country.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) claims the university allowed "anti-American, pro-terrorist agitators" to assault Jewish students on campus. It also claimed without evidence that Harvard is coordinating with the Chinese communist party.
In a separate court case, District Judge Jeffrey White blocked the Trump administration from terminating the legal status of international students nationwide while a court case challenging previous terminations is pending. The order bars the government from arresting, incarcerating or moving students elsewhere based on their legal status until the case is resolved.
