Government Moves Away from Action to Abolish FEMA
The agency provides emergency services in times of tragedy
For months, President Donald Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem have said the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) could be eliminated. However, as the president visited Texas to view the impact of last week’s deadly floods, administration officials say abolishing the agency outright is not on the agenda.

The official and others emphasized that Trump will make the ultimate decision, but said at this point, FEMA is not set to be abolished.
