Two Children dead, 17 Injured in Shooting at Minneapolis Catholic School

The shooting occurred during Mass

Two children were murdered and more than a dozen were injured in a shooting at a Catholic school in Minneapolis on Wednesday morning.

The shooting occurred around 8:30 a.m. at Annunciation Church on the city’s southwest side. Children from the adjacent Annunciation Catholic School, a private K-8 school, were attending Mass to mark their first week of school.

An 8-year-old and a 10-year-old were killed, police said. Fourteen children and three adults were injured; seven children are in critical condition at a nearby trauma center. The gunman began shooting through the church windows during the Mass, police said, adding that he shot himself to death.
