Here’s what to do with iOS 26 first

Sometimes, all it takes to make an old phone feel new again is a software update.

After a lot of fine-tuning, Apple released its iOS 26 update on Monday, offering — among other things — a drastic visual overhaul, tools for dodging scammers, and, with luck, maybe even better battery life.

To try these features for yourself, you just need an iPhone 11 or newer. It is generally good practice to keep your phone running the latest software possible; however, there is so much going on in this new update that coming to grips with all the changes can feel a little daunting.
