An Overview of NPX from Advisory Team Chair, Jennifer Wick, PharmD, MPH, BCACP

Dear Member,

Greetings! As our new Advisory Team members get up and running with their roles, I wanted to take this opportunity to remind folks of NPX’s role within OPA and describe our new position as an official committee within the organization.

The New Practitioner Experience (NPX) Committee aims to be the launch pad for all new practitioners to achieve personal and professional growth and success. Individuals who join OPA and are within seven years of graduation are automatically designated under NPX. Benefits of this designation include leadership, advocacy, networking and practice development opportunities.

The NPX Committee officially formed in 2023, joining the ranks of other committees within OPA. This change now ensures that new practitioners have formalized input into the workings of the organization through participation at OPA’s annual long-range planning meeting.

NPX members can expect to engage with committee leadership through the quarterly release of Launchpad, our newsletter tailored to the interests of new practitioners. ‘Lunch and Learn’ webinars are hosted monthly and are a wonderful opportunity to stay up-to-date on hot topics that fit in your busy schedule. Social events are hosted annually around the state for new practitioners to build their professional network and community. NPX also has a strong presence at OPA’s annual meeting through programming designed to meet our members’ needs.

Thank you to our engaged members for your continued dedication to OPA and the patients you serve. To our newer NPX members, we look forward to meeting you at the next NPX event; keep an eye out for upcoming event invitations in your inbox!

Sincerely,

Jennifer
