FAQ 2023:

The Remarkable Experience

FAQ for OSAP 2023 Annual Conference

Where is the 2023 conference located and when is it taking place?

The Ohio Society of Association Professionals has elected to host our annual conference for 2023 as an in-person event in Lake County, Ohio at the Four Points by Sheraton Cleveland-Eastlake. We are so excited to head to this area of Ohio for our annual meeting and look forward to having all of Ohio's association community join us. This event will be held July 19-21, 2023.

Is there an OSAP room block at the host hotel?

Yes, there is a conference room block available on a first come, first served basis. To reserve a room in the OSAP room block for a reduced rate, please select this link.

What is the appropriate attire?

We want you to be comfortable so you can enjoy your annual conference experience! Therefore, business casual attire is appropriate at all events held during the educational block of the conference. However, for all evening activities, please dress casually.

How do I register for the event?

There are THREE easy ways to register: online, by mail or by phone. To register online, please select this link.

What are the registration fees and what do they include?

Full conference registration fees include access to all learning activities Wednesday through Friday. Registered attendees will also receive access to all available session handouts and the attendee roster. We will also be utilizing the OSAP Mobile App to provide registrants access to the conference materials to cut down on paper products. Due to ongoing green practices, we try to reduce the amount of paper we distribute. Please select this link to view our pricing.

What is the program schedule for the 2023 Annual Conference?

A detailed session program can be viewed here.

Do I have the option to sign up for specific educational sessions at the 2023 Annual Conference?

This year, the sessions are concurrent. This means, we do ask you to select the sessions that interest you the most to ensure that we have the rooms set up appropriately and to ensure space and safety.

What are the CEU hours and how do I know if the conference is approved for the CE I need?

OSAP has achieved the "Approved CAE Provider" status from ASAE, the Center for Association Leadership. What this means for you is that all OSAP programming automatically qualifies for CAE education hours. Attendance at the full Annual Conference qualifies for eleven (11) education hours of CEU for CAE application or renewal.

Does OSAP have a conference app?

Yes, we do! Once again, OSAP is working with Results at Hand, the app firm that created a mobile conference app for us many years ago that allows anyone with web-browsing capabilities (smartphone, tablet, PC, etc.) to engage! This allows you to keep up-to-date with the conference details through your mobile devices! Visit our site here ahead of time and check back often as we will have lots to update between now and the conference.

May I tweet, blog or use other social media outlets before, during and after the meeting to discuss topics announced at the meeting?

Absolutely! OSAP encourages you to use social media to share views, give feedback, network and discuss new developments in person. You can follow OSAP via Twitter @OhioSAP, and we encourage the use of #OSAP23 for related posts, as well as #OSAPInspires, and #OSAPBetterTogether.

Will handouts be available?

The annual conference is paperā€lite for our education sessions. As we are a "green friendly" organization, OSAP consciously aims to reduce the amount of paper we use on handouts at all our events and conferences. Additionally, this increases the quality and timeliness of the resources provided through the learning experience as presenters can update their materials more rapidly versus having to reprint attendee handouts. Electronic program materials and handouts replace paper and can accessed online before, during and after the program.

What if I have special needs to fully participate in the conference?

Pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), participants with special needs should indicate on the registration form, or contact OSAP's office as early as possible so that any requirements can be adequately acted upon.

I am not a member of OSAP, but my co-worker is. Can I use their membership to register at the member rate?

No; membership in OSAP is individual and, thus, non-transferable. However, association professionals registering for the meeting as a non-member will receive a complimentary one-year membership in OSAP! (Note: This option is not available for former OSAP members whose membership has lapsed within the past three years.)

What are important dates to remember?

Mark your calendar for June 23, 2023 which is when early-bird registration ends.

Will I be refunded if I have to cancel my registration?

We'll be sorry that you won't be able to join us for this exceptional learning and networking experience! However, we understand that things happen so if you simply can't attend, please notify us in writing by July 7, 2023. A small surcharge of $25 will be applied to all transactions refunded after June 23, 2023. A 60-percent surcharge will be retained if cancellations are received between July 8-14, 2023. No credits or refunds will be issued after July 14, 2023 or for non-participation. Cancellations may be submitted via email to osap@ohiosap.org or via mail to: OSAP, 1335 Dublin Road, Ste. 224-A, Columbus, OH 43215.
