COVID-19 Update: 1,926 Newly Confirmed Cases Today

Today, the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) reported 1,926 new cases of COVID-19, 134 hospitalizations and 36 deaths.

The last time Ohio reported less than 2,000 new COVID-19 cases was on Oct. 19 with 1,837 new cases, according to the COVID Tracking Project.

ODH also reported 922,143 confirmed cases, 11,695 deaths and 47,672 hospitalizations. The department reported 828,455 presumed recoveries. According to ODH, 1,058,141 people who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

ODH is now including antigen test results in the total number of cases (confirmed and probable). Governor Mike DeWine said antigen tests are "a bigger part of the overall picture of understanding COVID-19" and that it's important to capture that information.
