Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio, Inc.

The Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio, Inc. (PLSO) is a trade association supporting the profession of land surveying in Ohio. The organization was formed to:

Protect and benefit the general public through the development of principles of practice conforming to recognized ethical codes and
Guide the Professional Surveyor to practice the profession in accordance with the Surveyor’s Pledge;
Protect the inherent rights of those engaged in the profession;
Promote the advancement of professional surveying;
Promote educational programs for the advancement of those engaged in the profession;
Promote cooperation and act as liaison among groups of professional societies representing related professional fields.

PLSO is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as the association’s next Executive Director. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization, as well as implementing short and long term goals for the association identified in the strategic plan and under the direction of the Executive Committee.

Primary responsibilities for the position include:

managing the daily operations and financial functions
provide and oversee relationships with the association’s members
successfully planning and executing two multi-day conferences of continuing education offerings annually
providing communication to members through the website, public speaking, online and print publications
serving as the association’s liaison to related organizations and state agencies
performing legislative relations as the registered lobbyist
developing opportunities and implementing methods of promoting the profession of land surveying
special projects and duties assigned by the Executive Committee

Qualified candidates will:

hold a bachelor’s degree (masters preferred) and
possess at least 10 years of experience in a non-profit, association, or related work environment
experience in conference planning and facility negotiation is a strong plus.
