Five School Employees Take Union Dues Case to Ohio Supreme Court

The Buckeye Institute filed the appeal

Five school employees in Ohio are turning to the Ohio Supreme Court to stop paying dues after they resigned from the union.

The Buckeye Institute filed an appeal with the state's highest court in the case of five of the original 10 clients. Five clients won their case, which argued that all of the former members of the Ohio Association of Public School Employees (OAPSE) had money illegally taken from their paychecks for union dues after they resigned from the union.

The Buckeye Institute is a Columbus-based policy group.
