The mental health of high school students has largely worsened in the past decade, except between 2021 and 2023, when things improved slightly.
Those are among the findings of a new report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which features results from the latest Youth Risk Behavior Survey, conducted every two years.
"I don't think we are out of the woods by any means in terms of the crisis in youth mental health," said Kathleen Ethier, director of the CDC's Division of Adolescent and School Health.
