Women stuck on the corporate ladder must take steps to build their experience capital

Today, the bigger barrier to women’s career advancement isn’t the glass ceiling. It’s the broken rung, the first step up the corporate ladder: being promoted to a manager role.

Women also amass less work experience than men, on average, likely because they often shoulder a disproportionate share of household and caregiving responsibilities.

Women can take important steps to steer themselves toward industries and strategies that can help them build more experience capital.
