Amid Budget Cuts, Ohio Pork Council Donation Aids Mid-Ohio Food Collective

The collective says it's relying on local donations to help fill its needs

A $5,000 donation from the Ohio Pork Council will provide several hundred pounds of fresh meat to those in need.

"The Ohio Pork Council has been long time proponents of giving back to the community. This is another opportunity to do just that; get quality nutritious protein into the hands who need it the most," said president-elect Jarred Black. Ohio is the seventh largest pork producer in the country.

The money delivered to the Mid-Ohio Food Collective on Thursday comes at a time when money normally set aside for food purchase in drying up.
