Israelis stranded abroad began returning home on Wednesday after Israel launched an operation to repatriate its citizens after its airspace was closed last week. One passenger, Yaacov Bogen, was about to land in Israel after a trip to London on Friday when his flight was diverted to Cyprus, where he has been ever since.
"I decided to come back because the family is here, and I belong here, and unfortunately we got used to these fights and war, but we prefer to be here, to support as much as we can," said Bogen upon arriving in Tel Aviv.
Talis Gehorsam's flight was also diverted to Cyprus from London.
