About the BIA
The Building Industry Association of Central Ohio has represented the homebuilding industry in the central Ohio region for more than 75 years. The BIA's mission is to advocate for policies which will allow for their industry to meet the growing and diverse needs of the region, promote awareness of the homebuilding industry and the thousands of jobs it supports, provide a path for professional and career development and to serve as a vehicle for networking and industry collaboration.
Position Description: Manager of Marketing & Communications
The Building Industry Association of Central Ohio is looking to hire a full-time Manager of Marketing & Communications to manage the content and methods in which the organization communicates to its membership, key stakeholders and the general public to ensure that messaging and strategy align with organizational goals. This position will report directly to the Executive Director of the BIA and collaborate with other members of the BIA team in a small-staff environment.
Responsibilities
- Manages the organization’s digital brand and web presence, including maintaining, editing, and updating the organizational website(s)
- Oversees the design of promotional materials such as graphics/brochures and distribution through online and print channels, while maintaining brand integrity of the BIA
- Produces copy and graphics for and maintains all social media accounts
- Generates content for, proofs, and distributes marketing emails and tracks results
- Assists in development of content for website and online media, including social media accounts
- Manages the successful delivery of the BIA’s Building Insider Magazine, including coordination on content, design, production and distribution
- Supports planning, recording and editing of podcasts, short videos, and other web content
- Creates and implements marketing plans for individual BIA events, initiatives and membership campaigns
- Work collaboratively to draft media releases, key messages, and informational materials
- Assists with BIA events and other meetings, as needed
- Work collaboratively with the BIA Foundation to create materials and content as needed
- Collaborates with other team members on multiple projects simultaneously in progress
- Functions as a part of a highly cohesive, small-staff team and contribute to the overall success of the organization
- Provides excellent customer service to BIA members and collaborators
- Occasional travel within the central Ohio region required (less than 5% of the time)
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field
- At least three years of experience in marketing, social media, or communications roles
- Highly organized with excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Previous experience in image, audio and video editing, including experience with Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with digital marketing tools such as Constant Contact, Alchemer, Google Ads and other similar tools a plus
- Knowledge of AP style a plus
- Self-starter focused on completing tasks in a timely manner and of the highest quality
- Ability to provide the highest level of customer service and professionalism to BIA members
