Travel Ban Injunction Upheld By Fourth Circuit

This is yet another blow to the administration

President Donald Trump’s proposed travel ban was dealt a defeat yesterday when the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld an injunction blocking a significant part of the Trump administration’s travel ban from going into effect. The court's decision will prevent the administration from implementing their denial of visas to citizens of six majority-Muslim countries.

Trump’s travel ban has been in limbo in the courts with those challenging the order arguing that it is unconstitutional and aimed at keeping Muslims out of the country. The Justice Department argues that the travel ban is well within the president’s authority to make national security decisions on who may enter the country.

In mid-May, the Ninth Circuit heard the travel ban appeal, but they have not released a ruling.
