The National Governors Association (NGA) had been working on workforce resilience for a couple of years—but the policy effort has taken on a new tenor, thanks to COVID-19.

NGA's new report, Reimagining Workforce Policy in the Age of Disruption, a product of its Future Workforce Now initiative, aims to help state officials figure out how to navigate the tech-heavy future of work.

According to the association, the pandemic is likely to make the already growing trends around technology—a need for re-skilling, growing adoption of new innovations, a need to protect vulnerable workers—even more important.
