A new report from Paul Frankenberg, founder and managing partner of Focus Search Partners, points to Warren Buffett, co-founder, chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway.

As organizations continue to navigate economic uncertainty, Buffett’s insights are increasingly relevant for leaders in private equity. The average hold period for a portfolio company increased from 5.7 years in 2022 to 7.1 years in 2023, slowing executive movement in the market. This has uncovered new challenges and professional development opportunities that have not traditionally been prioritized in the private equity landscape, according to Frankenberg.
